New Year In Fresno, CA
Posted On 04/18/2009 04:17:38 by administrator

My family and just arrived in Fresno, CA -- we're from SoCal -- to celebrate Khmer New Year with other family members who are residing here.

It's going to be a fun weekend.

I must admit I love Khmer food. When it comes to super yummy food, I tend to over eat. My will to stop eating had always been overpowered by the taste and smell of the food. It's a force I know I can never win so I give in very easily.

Food is one of the reasons why I enjoy Khmer New Year so much.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I couldn't agree with you more.  Khmer food is one of the richest tasting ethnic food I've grown to love.  i am khmer so its a given that I love the food.  But I'm the type tha loves khmer food soo much that I insist on other non-asians to try to khmer cuisines, and they always end up LOVING it,  even the stinky pa-hok sauce or Bok-La-hong salad that we all love to eat.

Some Khmer dishes are so simple to prepare and some are so complicated and their ingrient lists seem to go on for miles. Even the simple dishes are packed with flavors and the taste is a slice of heaven. The sad aspect of Khmer cuisine is it lacks popularity and Khmer restaurants aren't as plentiful as Thai. I hope this fact will change in the near future so that it's readily available to whomever graving it.
