Returning To My Film Making Roots
Posted On 09/15/2009 10:35:34 by administrator

Film making has always been my passion, my calling in life. There was never a day went by where my mind wasn't occuppied by the thought of movie making.

Due to circumstances and financial situations, I was unable to bring feature films under my direction to fruition. So instead of focusing on feature length, high concept films, I am now diverting my focus and concentration to shorts, perhaps five to ten minutes in length with absolutely no budget just to assuage my grief.

Each short will be shot on HD camera which I bought several months ago and still waiting all this time for a Dept Of Field (DOA) adapter which will give a cinematic looks for each shot, but this adapter creation has caused many delays and not to mention the fund put forth just to acquire the necessary parts. To remedy this situation, I will resort to the usage of filters. Finding the right filter to achieve a cinematic looks can be a challenge because I have never been a huge fan of filters.

The shoot of each short will be a day or two with minimal cast and crew whenever possible. The production will be guerrilla throughout the process.

Film making is a team effort, so help is definitely needed.

Those who live in SoCal and wish to assist in this effort, please contact me through KhmerSocializers contact page.

Let's make a movie!

Due to this new endeavor, I will be less active on this site but continue to update and promote it. Filmmaking requires a lot of time writing and planning, these two activities will consume most of my leisure time.

Last night, I came a cross a Khmer Social Network site called AngkorOne.com; it seems they get it right. I encourage other Khmers to join this community, let's unite, support and encourage one another so we can advance together to better living and beings.

Khmersocializers.com will continue to support other Khmers in whatever endeavor they're focusing on.

I have my mission and that is to take over Hollywood. Anyone can lend a hand in helping me to achieve this goal, please step forward.

Thanks,

Sojean
