Beyond the Beach is the brainchild of Andrew Watson & Paul Strachan, two like minded individuals who are raising the quality of television on the eastern seaboard of Thailand. BYB is a talk show, but with a difference, Andrew goes in search of facinating characters who all have a story to tell. Featuring exciting locations such as Rome, New York, The Cotswolds, Israel, Singapore, Cambodia and of course Thailand. BYB in Cambodia is the first episode from the third series and starts off as a roadtrip and evolves into an insight into the work that NGO's do with orphaned children whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS and as ever there is a facinating personality whose passion and warmth oozes onto the screen. The camerawork was done by a student, however that leands itself to the personal touch to the programme. Paul Strachan played a major part in the editing of the show and also composed original music, which in this case, starts of as a light hearted jaunt that gradually trancends into a wonderful emotional backdrop to the different children we are introduced to.
